When a new kind of day
stands on your horizon
with the sun just beginning
to rise in your skies
life will challenge you
try to keep you back
this is nature's true story
to struggle for the right
through all the new troubles
with change in your hand
you write the new story
your dreams are your map
If life were based on music
If life is based on music
mine would be a symphony
written by a master of their art
strings and trumpets
harps and drums sometimes loud
starting off as quiet as a babies breath
rising up to the cries it calls in the night
to a rousing lot of playful stanzas
as the years progress
with volleys of drum solos to announce
the joys and sorrows as the years drift into decades
steady harmonic melodies
signal the years of growth and learning
little romantic dance pieces
where love drifts in and out of my life
now a symphony of loud happy sounds
with notes set to the beat of fireworks
as someone enters my life making dreams complete
when the rythm begins to pick up speed
giving way to added music within the one symphony
The grand procession of instruments now plays
the conductor changes to the face in my heart
directing all the music to it's place in time
adding to a masterpiece called my life
one day this symphony as all will play no longer
with all the sounds silent, drifting through the ages
truely content for all that has come and gone
the symphony could never have gotten to be
had you my conductor, fallen in to my heart
content now to let the music flow as time drifts by
life has always had deep meaning to me
now, the future has purpose and breathe
like two violins, dancing over their strings
singing of life for two as one
time feels like it has finally written the music
that will make me the complete me of who I am
by creating the notes that combine this life
with all that it ever could and should be.
