Tomorrow Mik Namlieh
Tomorrow, when the sun climbs o’er The hip-bone of the sky, And you rise unrested from your wrinkled bed, Then I’ll be gone from here.
Tomorrow, when the dawn breaks golden And wine sweet o’er the distance Bright as every fairytale future yet unknown, You will arise and know the future.
Tomorrow, when the world is new And shadows have passed with the night As is mankind’s promise and redemption, You will look for shadows.
Tomorrow, when music reaches for all corners Of this place, it will not find me, And though its soft insistence is compelling Its melody will be minor.
Tomorrow, when you wonder why And what possessed your mind at rest You will forget your restless dreams, All wind and rain and bone.
Tomorrow, when I wander When I leave this broken place, I’ll find a road that leads to morning And I’ll go that way alone.
Tomorrow, when I’ve left you With a silence so unfamiliar, I will carry my own silence To a place you’ve never seen.
Tomorrow, when I’ve broken Every tie that bound me close to you, Then you’ll remember every dream, And I’ll be gone from here.
