This has been a wonderful day
So quiet and so relaxing,
You took off work and here you are
Under a tree, we are laughing.

It had been a crazy week
Finally we have some alone time,
This is perfect-Like a dream
You and me and the warm sunshine.

Lying here with you
For once you're not talking away,
You aren't speaking your mind
It has been a long day.

A leaf falls from the tree we are under
Gently the wind carries it around,
A beautiful dance
Before it hits the ground.

Everything is right,
We are still together...
Oh how happy I am,
Just thinking of us as forever...



And then in a flash
Everything grows dark and dim,
Everything we had
Fades into the shifting wind.

It becomes cold, oh too quickly
As you get up and leave just like that,
My heart breaks, 'cause I said, "I love you"
But you didn't say it back.

I have to agree the way the beginning was written made me think that I was going to work out but then towards the end it seemed to paint a completely different picture. It created vivid images in my head and I imagined everything. Awesome poem I love it
