t a t t o e s
Her skin was like parchment from Egypt Made from the slender, swaying reeds On the edge of the Wicked Nile Cream white, with a fringe of darkness
Waiting for words, wisdom, and age To crinkle its soft, edgy surface She'd see her ivory satin-silk and cringe Dying at the sight of its vast brightness Her friends, rock star fairies Dying plum pixies, and crazed lunatics They all would mark her - show her their world
Etched in white roses dipped in blood And wilting onyx violets, glittering like The gem stoned sky Scarred infinately with sky blues And the sultry hues of Arabia
The pictures formed, mourning on her skin Like a story she had yet to tell Like a cradle's comfort she once slept in She'd watch them form each and every night The glimpse of the black against the light
And she'd watch them die when The acid tears drowned, flooded, Washed them out There is only wrong in the right There is only silence in the night
