Ok, so when people do a certain amount of posts, they achieve a higher rank (another star), right? You can also make categories that can only allow certain people in them...including these ranks. So, why not some how use this to your advantage, and make categories, that people would want to go to, but have it so only people ranked with one star can go on the top categories, 2 stars second categories and first, 3 stars 1,2,3 categories and so on.... I dont know how this would work, or if you would want to do it, but the competition and wanting to see what is next would help with people giving out more posts. Just a thought, you don't have to use it.

I would think that by joining a site, you should be allowed the whole thing. I would want that if I were a new member. However, this is an idea. It would cause people to post more in order to take the next step. However, there are but 5 categories and that would mean that there would have to be a lower need for posts to obtain the next step. Meaning that we would have to change the number of posts for someone to obtain a higher rank. That would mean lower posts for higher rank. That would defeat the purpose for site activity plans. A site thrives on activity. When the post count is lowered, people obtain higher rank faster and have really been handed a higher title instead of earning it. Also, categories are created for the placement of boards. We can set it where only a certain members group can access those boards by rank. But, not by number. There is three groups. Guests, Members, and Staff. Which include those who have no membership, those who have memberships, and moderators and administrators. There is not setting for the post count. Our Director of Assistance can further explain it if necessary. His name is Fox. Have a great day!

I do think that is an interesting idea also, however, I'm like you TJ, I don't see a place for it at the moment.

Well that is interesting, much like an idea that TJ and I had once before, a long time ago, I believe you know what I am reffering to TJ. I like the idea of competition to a certain extent, but as Fox said, at this point, I see no area where it is needed. Perhaps in a future project we may venture into, we'll see.

I do know well of what you speak John. I agree with Fox as well. It isn't really needed at this moment. Our members are posting as well as can be expected. We have had the same new member for three days now but, we did just come off an Easter Holiday. It was a good idea though. We'll only see in time. Thanks for the suggestion though Angel. Glad to see you interested in the site's well being.

Ok, so I have another suggestion...I dont know if you would like it or not..but I have tried it with my forum and it seemed to help.
Make an actual category for individual works. If a person has a big number of poems, or writings or whatever.
This would take a lot of time because of moving threads....but it would also help with how fat some boards are and skinny them up a bit.
Do I make sense?
I'm also not saying that you guys are doing a horrible job...you are doing a GREAT job and it looks wonderful. Just something that I thought might help...and I will not at all take offense to it if you dont use it.
Take care and keep it sweet, ~angel

That would be considered an Anthology. I'm unsure whether it's there still, but at one time you could have found an explanation for this in the news section. Anthologies can be great, but they can also do serious damage. People who own Anthologies would only post in their personal board. That would cause the site to slack considerably in posts. Site activity is what we thrive on here. When people do not post it makes the site look empty. I would rather get online and see two or three boards just full to the brim rather than a great deal of individual boards for everyone on our site. I'm taking it that's what you're referring to in this post. I hope that this can better explain the reason.

I'm not saying delete all of your boards..and just make individual works. I am just simply saying, keep everything you have...but add individual works. Just an idea

We once considered this idea, but I think we all finally agreed against it due to the controversy that it could arouse among members.

I am sorry I just keep on throwing ideas at you...but I just got one. I really like that there is a chat room that we can go on on here...but whenever I go on it...there is nobody else on it...
Could there possible be a board that is just for the chatroom and have times on it when people will be on?
I think it would be cool to talk to some of these poets and get to know eachother more...and I am sure nobody is on it when I go on, because nobody is on it when they go on.
Again, I wont take it to heart if you say its a bad idea. Just a thought you can ponder.

the bad thing about the chat is that its so random when people even get on the site at all....best way to talk to poets is if they have msn or something... like i'm always on msn when i'm online, but i'm not always on poet club, so people may be on poet club when i'm online, but anyway...you know what i mean right?...its so tough to specify times when people will be on chat because schedules are so hard to coordinate!

You could always set up times and dates to meet with them in chat and just talk. But as Kris said, most of us are online at random hours and it's hard to set a certain time frame in which to chat. Perhaps sending someone a message when you see them online and invite them to chat. But Kris is also right with saying that Messanger would be the best choice. MSN, Yahoo, ICQ, AOL, etc...that would be your best bet to getting to know others through chat.
